General Information

Career can be defined as the step-by-step and continuous advancement of a person in any field of work throughout their working years, along with the accumulation of experience and skills. The first and most important step on the career path is taken through the various opportunities provided during university education. The primary goal of the Career Development Application and Research Center, established in 2019 within Bursa Technical University (BTU), is to assist students in consciously guiding their career paths. In line with this goal, the Center's main priorities include: preparing students for professional life through various training sessions, seminars, technical trips, and workshops that address the demands and expectations of the business world, offering different job opportunities as students approach graduation, and maintaining sustainable communication with all students after graduation.

The Career Development Application and Research Center also shares various objectives through joint efforts with other centers within BTU, including the University-Industry Cooperation Development Application and Research Center, the Continuous Education and Application Research Center, the Technology Transfer Office, and the Vocational Training in Business Program. These objectives are as follows:

a) To conduct research in the field of career counseling in collaboration with the relevant units of the university and all academic programs.

b) To provide career counseling that supports university students in their career planning, helps them transition from high school to university and from university to professional life, and assists them in finding jobs that match their individual characteristics after graduation.

c) In cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, to offer training programs for students and alumni of the university to enhance their professional competencies and keep up with new developments in their fields.

ç) To increase the university’s preference rate by informing prospective students about undergraduate programs that match their interests and abilities.

d) To collaborate with the Vocational Training in Business Program (IMEP) Coordination Office to increase the number of institutions where students can find employment, internships, and project opportunities, and to support and coordinate the establishment of connections between students and these institutions.

e) To carry out initiatives aimed at increasing the employment rate of Bursa Technical University graduates at national and international levels.

f) To conduct follow-up studies on the career development processes of university graduates in collaboration with the Center.
